The World Outreach Network of  Hamilton Conference has begun a project to remove some of the world's land mines. Working through The Canadian Association for Mine and Explosive Ordnance Security (CAMEO) they have selected the southern-most part of Sudan as their area of concentration. The goal of the project is to raise $120,000 (which was met in February of 2001 and now has been extended to December 31, 2001) to initiate the demining work in Southern Sudan.
