ABOUT US


 

 

South Sudan consists of 10 states formerly made up of the following counties:

    • Equatoria [consisting of Central Equatoria, East Equatoria and West Equatoria]
    • Bahr el Ghazal [consisting of North Bahr al Ghazal, West Bahr al Ghazal, Lakes and Warab county]
    • Upper Nile [Jonglei, Upper Nile and Western Upper Nile]
Since inception, OSIL has carried out demining projects in 8 of South Sudan’s 10 counties. These 8 counties have been declared the most heavily landmine - contaminated states in the country. As highlighted in the above map, these are: Upper Nile Jonglei, Blue Nile County, East Equatoria, Central Equatoria, Lakes County, West Equatoria & West Bahr al Ghazal County.
