AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT YOUR DONATIONS ARE HELPING TO STOP

The lady's name is Loyas Yata. She is 35 years old and the mother of nine. She stepped on a mine whilst gathering firewood about one kilometer from her house. The place of the accident is a village called Lainya, which is 37 miles from Yei; West on the road to Juba. It took a day and a half to get her to Yei hospital. During that time she had no medical treatment, past a bandage and no pain killers. She is sitting with her youngest daughter.

This project was started by The Hamilton Conference of the United Church of Canada and fundraising will continue until December 31, 2001.
