Antipersonnel Mine

Description
The APM 1 is a small Austrian made directed fragmentation mine that comes with a mounting tripod. The mine is produced by Hirtenberger/Sudsteirische Mettallindustrie Gmbh (SMI). The shape of the mine itself is similar to the US M18A1 Claymore mine. The mine weighs only 1 kg and contains just 360 grams of explosive. The mine has a total of 290 steel balls 5 mm in diameter in front of the sheet of Composition B explosive charge.
