Antipersonnel Mine

Description
The APM is an Austrian made directed fragmentation mine. This mine, which weighs 2.9 kg is a scaled up version of the Austrian APM 19 directed fragmentation mine, which weighs 1.9 kg. The mine has two detonator wells located on either side of the top of the mine. The mine is positioned on the ground using two pairs of scissor legs located on either side of the mine's body. The mine can be initiated either with a tripwire or command detonated. Upon detonation, the mine's 923 steel ball fragments, 5.6 mm in diameter, are launched in a greater than 58 degree arc away from the mine. At the 50 meters the number of fragments per square meter is 5 or greater.
